CALL FOR PAPERS: 2ND BIENNIAL EACP CONFERENCEWe are glad to announce the 2nd Biennial Conference of the European Association for Chinese Philosophy under the title Global Chinese Philosophy which will take place at the University of Basel, Switzerland, from September 7 - 9, 2017.
Scholars with interest in Chinese philosophy and philosophy in China are invited to submit proposals for individual papers or panels to Ralph Weber (ralph.weber@unibas.ch). Abstracts should be no more than 200 words. Panel proposals should include the title and a brief description of the panel, as well as the names, affiliations, and email addresses of the participants. Please also provide the titles of each participant’s presentation. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2017. Notice of acceptance of proposals will be sent to your e-mail address by the end of April, with instructions for how to register and submit the conference registration fee (EACP members: 60 EUR for scholars and 20 EUR for students, non-members: 80 EUR for scholars and 30 EUR for students). To encourage participation and inclusion of young researchers, there will be a Young Scholars Award. MA holders and PhD candidates who submit a paper proposal should therefore indicate whether they wish to compete for the award. Winners of the award will be receiving a full travel grant and prize money.

The Inaugural Biennial Conference of the European Association for Chinese Philosophy under the title Thinking across the Borders: Philosophy and China will take place in Vilnius, Latvia, from 9-11 June 2016. organized by the Department of Asian and African Studies, Faculty of Arts, Ljubljana University Date: December 11th – 13th 2015 Venue: Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Aškerčeva 2, Ljubljana CALL FOR PAPERS The aim of the STCS (Specific Topics in Chinese Studies) conferences, organized by the Department of Asian studies at Ljubljana University, is to encourage and advance the study of specific topics related to China and Asia through knowledge and information flow across disciplinary lines, and to strive to create and maintain a multidisciplinary platform for a fruitful exchange of ideas on different types, images, and categories of Chinese and Asian cultures. The 2015 conference is dedicated to comparisons and dialogues between three major Asian religions and/or philosophies, namely Islam, Confucianism and Buddhism. Our main motives for organizing this event are:
Abstracts of no more than 250 words should be sent to maja.veselic@ff.uni-lj.si by 25 August 25 2015. They should include the author's name, academic qualification, institutional affiliation, position, contact information – address, telephone number, e-mail. Scholars who will submit their proposals by this deadline will be notified of their acceptance before 1 October 2015. The official language of the conference is English. The organizers of the conference will publish a selection of the conference papers in a special issue of our academic journal Asian Studies. The conference fee which includes materials for the conference, a welcome reception, the banquet dinner and coffee break refreshments is 60 Euro (30 Euro for PhD Students).
